Inserting a blank background within the stimulus.
Hypothetical problem:
Insert an image file at the beginning of the stimulus (eg image1.jpg). After that, insert the image2.png file. When playing such a stimulus, this application will immediately start displaying the image2.png file after the timeout of the image1.jpg display. What if you want BETWEEN these 2 files to have a delay period, i.e. to display a "blank screen" in the desired background color?
Many research models require that a "blank screen" delay be displayed between the 2 image files or somewhere in the middle of the stimulus. If your research model has such a requirement, take the following steps:
- within the selected Graphic software program, create a type of graphic file that this application supports
- within selected image editor fill this file with desired background color. This background color can be the same as the interstimulus interval (ISI), but it can also be different.
- insert this file in the appropriate place within the desired stimulus and adjust its display time (option: Time duration of displaying the image file)
- it is easiest to set the option Mode for drawing this image file to the value Resize image.Stretch to screen because then you don't have to take care of image dimensions and screen size (your uploaded file will occupy the entire screen).
